Kiskeam 2-10 St Michaels 1-10

Our intermediate team came away from Kiskeam empty handed but nonetheless were  a little unlucky not to get anything from the game.After kiskeam opened the scoring Michaels went on to score the next 5 points with some fine individual scores from the  impressive Liam OSullivan . Michaels were showing plenty appetite and the pace of their play troubled the home side at times . The half time score of 1-07 to 0-04 was a fair reflection of how the first half had gone.

However ,on the resumption kiskeam introduced Anthony Casey in goal and he was pivotal in two big incidents in the second half. Firstly , he produced a great stop  shortly after half time  and the turning point of the game came when he made two great saves in a matter of seconds to somehow prevent Michaels from taking an 8 point lead, this was compounded when Kiskeam broke down the field to score their opening goal straight from the clearance to make it a two point game. After that it was fairly evenly matched until a 56th minute Dave Scannell goal turned the game in favour of the home team to give them the lead for the first time since the second minute and two late points ensured their two league points.
