JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
St Michaels 4-12 Whitechurch 0-17 (aet)
Our junior B team advanced from tonight's  championship encounter in Ballinlough  after a tense affair which went all the way to extra time.
After going behind early in the game our forward line containing a number of minors from this year and last year combined very effectively to create a number of early goal chances.A Simon Falvey free opened our account after 11 mins before a break from midfielder Cian Denn resulted in him billowing the net from close range five mins later to settle the nerves of this young team. A further green flag from Paul Kennedy added to by some fine point scoring from centre forward Simon Falvey ,Cian Cash and Mark O'Keeffe  put us into a seemingly comfortable half time lead of 2-06 to 0-05. However ,on the resumption ,it was Whitechurch  who upped the ante and five unanswered points brought them to within two . A Simon Falvey free edged us back to three in front but Whitechurch came again, and although Falvey added another two points late in the game, they drew level with two points deep into stoppage time to force extra time.
The break gave our selectors time to reorganise and two further goals from the very impressive Kennedy in extra time sealed the victory.🔰🔰
