A cracking Junior B clash in Ballinlough this evening in front of a larger than usual, vocal support. We barely had the wrappers off Notley’s werther originals before Nemo struck for goal.  A swift Nemo point had us on the back foot, before we settled down with four unanswered points from Ryan Sweeney (3) and Dan Lenihan. Nemo regained the initiative however with three on the trot and at this stage in the game the Nemo custodian Joe Lyons  had made some super saves denying at least three goal scoring opportunities for the dazzlers. Dale from a free , Jacko and Sweeney again got us back level, before a pile driver from Ian O Keefe had us in front for the first time. But Nemo came back at us ,and a goal just on the stroke of half time after Mike Whelan had made a great stop initially,left nothing between the teams . Dan levelled a Nemo score moments into the second half , before Aaron Giltinan produced a super two pointer effort which had the crowd on its feet. A Dale goal, and a free looked like it would close it out with a quarter remaining ,but Nemo don’t give up. Three unanswered points from the Trabeg men had the crowd biting their nails before a Sweeney point in near darkness ended matters.Jazz’s battle with Barry o Driscoll was a classic that even had Fionn on his feet.  We are now through to the Quarter final where we face Delanys out in Bishopstown at the start of October. A great win , and great to see a large support in Ballinlough tonight , hopefully we will have the same outcome in Ovens on Saturday and in Páirc Mhichíl Naofa on Sunday morning for the Junior A’s.
