St Michaels 3-07 Glanmire 2-16
Our Juniors lost out to a very good Glanmire team below in Páirc Mhichíl Naofa tonight. In the first game after the clocks springing forward over the weekend, it was great to see a mixture of youth and experience blended together. Glanmire were quick out of the blocks in both halves , and that , ultimately, was the reason for their 6 point win. After an opening point they registered a two pointer shortly after, to go 3 up. Liam O Sullivan opened his account soon after, before Adam Hennessy grabbed the opening goal. Another score from outside the arc from Glanmire, and another point shortly after, edged them ahead again, before points from Simon Falvey (45) Liam O Sullivan and Simon again, drew us level. A fantastic save from Martin Burke in one end resulted in a Liam O Sullivan goal up the other end, and another goal quickly followed form the boot of Bucks. Glanmire rallied though and with a brace of points , and we went in at half time with a slender one point advantage. Glanmire though , came out all guns blazing straight form the throw in, and with 1-03 going unanswered, they quickly took control of the match. 3 Liam O’Sullivan points (2f) kept us in touch. A couple of frees from breaches yielded nothing on the scoreboard, and Glanmire held on to a well deserved win. Loads of positives though , with a big squad, and a mixture, as I said before, of youth and experience. Next up is a trip out to Ballyphehane on April 12 for the lads.
