4G DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

A landmark day yet again in the 75 year history of St Michaels. Today, in the City Hall , papers and contracts were signed for the planned 4G development in Páirc Mhichíl Naofa. Pictured are:
Brendan Ryan,Chairman St Michaels GFC, John Stapleton Director of Services Cork City Council, Adrian Cummins Premier Pitches, Brendan Sheehan BJS Consultants and Mark Cotter Executive Engineer Cork City Council. A number of people helped get this across the line today , special mention in particular must go to Brendan Sheehan for his professionalism and sheer determination to get it done, he never left a stone unturned . We also have to thank Stephen Scully ,Cork City Council for his continued support of St Michaels and to Cllr Des Cahill who has also supported us no end. A lot of ink was used to cross t’s and dot i’s. Back a few years ago it was a tentative and ambitious plan from previous Chairmen Jim McLoughlin and Christy Walsh, they sowed the seed . It’s now a reality thanks to the unrelenting effort of current Chairman Brendan Ryan ,supported by Dave Kidney and Monica Walsh. There is a long list of people who helped us along the way.
Now ,we can plan for the future of St Michaels , we already have in place a fantastic facility, and the onset of a 4G training pitch will cater for the boys and girls of both St Michaels GFC and St Michaels LGFC , who celebrate a milestone of their own this year , 25 years since their foundation in 2001.
We hope to see work beginning within the next 4 weeks.
