A cracking match below in Páirc Mhichíl Naofa this morning before a large crowd in lovely Autumn sunshine. Before we could settle into the match,it was evident from the off ,that Glanworth , particularly their lively inside forward line, were going to be a very dangerous opponent. Three unanswered points within the first two mins signalled their threat. A Kate Smith goal seized the momentum however, at a time when Glanworth were dominant, and this settled the girls down. Although a Glanworth double edged them in front again , a Katelyn goal came soon after, and another Smith goal, just before Glanworth added their 7th point, had the girls in front at the short whistle 3-01 to 0-07. For the second half ,the breeze , playing down the field , the home crowd roaring on the girls ,that didn’t matter , this Glanworth team were exceptionally good ,and it was going to take a monumental effort to get to a County Final. Glanworth opening up with a brace of points before a superbly worked move was finished by Aisling Leahy. From here it was nip and tuck with both sides trading points ,before Glanworth struck for four unanswered points to give them a slender advantage. A Kate Leneghan free levelled up , back came Glanworth with another brace to leave one between the teams once again in favour of the North Cork girls. This Michaels team doesn’t give up however, and a goal from Cliona O’Callagan at the death ensured

the journey towards a County final was completed. Hard luck to a fantastic Glanworth team , 16 scores from play. St Michaels dug deep in this one and with superb defending ,they never looked like conceding a goal. A County Final awaits.
