St Michaels GFC would like to express our extreme gratitude to Dave Kidney who has stepped aside as Secretary of the club. Dave , or Banjo, as he is more affectionately known, has given nearly 6 years of unbridled dedication to that role , more often than not going beyond the remit of the role. Before that, he served in other roles in the Club. He was the point of contact with the County board for all matches , for Rebels Bounty, had to haggle with , and harass his fellow secretaries in other clubs to change fixtures and venues, arrange referees for challenge matches ,and was unrelenting his work at getting St Michaels to Premier Senior Football. Behind that role he also immersed himself in other roles that are not part of the job description. Lotto coordinator, Last Person Standing ,Junior Selector , Junior player( B), quiz nights , the Frankie Barry Tournament, Christmas raffles ,he was involved in all that. More importantly, his involvement in the securing of grants for St Michaels, and all the paperwork required around that, needs to be commended. He has been a huge part of getting the 4G development to the point of commencement. I suppose the fact that we are small in numbers lends itself to people doing a lot more than what was expected of them. Banjo done all of that with no complaints, and I’m certain I’ve missed plenty , such was his volume of work,he loves St Michaels and that is that. He will still remain involved , we won’t lose him , he is just hanging up the biro of the secretary role. He is the ultimate Clubman and will remain that.
P.S. I hope this thanks to Banjo message is not a deterrent to any prospective new Secretary 😉all of the above were done outside of what was required of the secretary role .
Thanks Banjo 💛💚

A fantastic opportunity as a fundraiser towards our 4G development. With 12 monthly draws and over €500k in prize money ,you can support St Michaels and be in with a chance to win some big prize money at the same time. The Jan Feb and March draws will be held towards the end of March. We have a quota of sales , once we reach that ,then all subsequent sales will go direct to St Michaels. Unfortunately, we had a drop off in sales and renewals last year so we are appealing for people to renew either from last year or from previous years. Click on the link below and ensure you select St Michaels as your club. If you are an existing subscriber, can you make sure that you renew if you are not a direct debit subscriber. Its a big year for St Michaels with impending works on our 4G safeguarding our facilities for the future. We really appreciate all the support to date, as, without these type of fundraising opportunities, we simply could not exist. #Stmichaelsabú 🟢🟡
