FÉILE TEAM QUALIFY FOR SEMI FINAL
Our Féile team have progressed to Mondays semi final of the Prem. 2 Féile out in MTU following two good wins below in Carrigtwohill this morning in the group stages. They face Valley Rovers with a 12.30 throw in. Following Nick’s win in the opener, it was important we had to start well against the Blackpool lads. With a strong breeze at our backs, we opened up a good lead in the first 15 , much needed, as the breeze was getting stronger and was looking like it was going to dictate matters. The 2 goal lead was just enough to keep the lads focused however , and they dug deep and played some good football, allied with some fantastic defending , curtailing a strong Nicks attack. In the second game, it was all about holding on to top spot, and with Carrigtwohill losing the opener to Nicks by a point ,we only needed to avoid defeat. The lads were determined to win in style however, and they did that. Again, some fantastic performances around the pitch, mixing skill with doggedness, which resulted in us running out winners, and we now go to MTU on Monday at lunchtime hoping for a repeat of this morning. Too many good performances around the pitch to single out any one individual above the whole squad of players who done St Michaels proud this morning. Thanks to Carrigtwohill for providing their fantastic facilities and for the teas coffees and food they provided for us. Best of luck to all involved in Mondays semi final. #Stmichaelsabú
